Social Media Strategist (Remote)

This is a part-time remote position; you can work from anywhere in the US.

JOB DUTIES

  • #1: Be cool on the internet.
  • Manage Museum Hack’s current social media platforms, including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.
  • Create consistent content on all social media platforms, including writing and editing social media posts, improving customer engagement, and promoting social media campaigns.
  • Test and experiment with different types of content on various social media platforms
  • Ensure fresh content is regularly posted to our social media pages
  • Start, and participate in, thoughtful, meaningful, and engaging conversations on social media
  • Provide Marketing Manager with weekly social media plan outline
  • Respond to social media comments and messages in a timely manner; know when to pass messages on to different departments and/or escalate when necessary
  • Collaborate with Marketing Manager on overall social media strategy 
  • Develop social media influencer relationships; make and maintain new connections on all platforms
  • Remain up-to-date on latest social media best practices, new trends, analytics, and metrics
  • Monitor trends and trending topics daily to ensure relevant content is posted to social media platforms
  • Maintain company social media profiles, ensuring information is up-to-date
  • Track and analyze social media content performance and analytics as related to company goals for social media; adjust social media plan as necessary
  • Prepare regular status reports for Marketing Manager on social media efforts
  • Various tasks as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong understanding of various social media platforms
  • Must be available to participate in #museumedchat on Thursdays from 8-9pm EST 2x per month
  • Attend 2x per month marketing team meetings
  • Must have nearly perfect written English skills and awesome spoken English skills
  • Quick learner
  • Detail and process oriented
  • High quality work: You are an efficient individual who makes projects happen behind the scenes with a fine eye for details (in short: you get shit done right!)
  • Technically inclined, able to pick up new things quickly
  • Flexibility quotient high: Things can and do change on a dime around here -- you gotta go with the flow and be ready to kick it into high gear at a moment's notice
  • Be fun and exciting without using too many exclamation marks!!!!!!!!!
  • Must have reliable access to fast Wifi and use of a personal computer 
  • Authorized to work in the US

HOURS / PAY

  • Estimated 5-10 hours per week
  • $25/hour
